Privacy Policy
Digital Plugs (“DigiPlugs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website digital-plugs.com, its subdomains (including docs.digital-plugs.com), and develops WordPress plugins including Digital Plug Store Locator (“Plugin”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
-
Information you provide to us. When you contact us by email (for support or sales inquiries), we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. When you purchase our premium products, we collect the information needed to process your order, such as your name, email address, billing details, and transaction history. Payment card details are handled by our payment processors and are never stored on our servers.
-
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information for security, debugging, and to understand how our website is used.
-
License and account information. If you purchase a premium plugin license, we store your license key, activation status, and the site URL(s) where the license is activated, in order to provide license validation, updates, and support.
2. How We Use Your Information
-
To provide, maintain, and improve our website, plugins, and services
-
To process purchases, deliver license keys, and provide plugin updates
-
To respond to support requests and sales inquiries
-
To send transactional emails such as purchase receipts and renewal reminders
-
To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats
-
To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. The Store Locator Plugin and Google Maps
The Digital Plug Store Locator plugin integrates with Google Maps APIs (the Maps JavaScript API, Geocoding API, and Places API) to render interactive maps, fetch location coordinates, and display address autocomplete suggestions on websites that install the Plugin.
-
Data transmitted to Google: user-entered addresses, coordinates (latitude/longitude), and the site owner’s Google Maps API key are transmitted to Google’s servers to provide map functionality.
-
Geolocation: if a visitor uses the “Near Me” feature, their browser will ask for permission before sharing their location. Location data is used only to display nearby stores and is not stored by us.
-
Our role: we (Digital Plugs) do not receive, collect, or store any data about visitors of websites that use the Plugin. Site owners who install the Plugin are the data controllers for their own visitors and should reference Google’s policies in their own privacy notices.
Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
4. Cookies
Our marketing pages do not set tracking or advertising cookies. Essential cookies may be used where strictly necessary — for example, to keep your cart and checkout session working during a purchase. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and request consent where required by law.
5. Third-Party Services
We share information only with service providers that help us operate our business, and only to the extent necessary:
-
Payment processors — to securely process purchases of premium products
-
Hosting and infrastructure providers — to serve our website and store data
-
Email providers — to respond to inquiries and send transactional messages
-
Google Maps Platform — as described in Section 3
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and are contractually or legally obligated to protect it. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy: purchase and license records for as long as your license is active and as required for tax and accounting purposes; support emails for as long as needed to assist you; and server logs for a limited period for security purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:
-
Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
-
Correct inaccurate information
-
Request deletion of your personal information
-
Object to or restrict certain processing
-
Receive your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email us at help@digital-plugs.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our website and products are intended for business use and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on our website. Your continued use of our website or products after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
